June Wrap-up & July Gear-up

Surprise, I actually made some progress on my June agenda. I'm a little shocked myself. BM dresses are still up in the air with the groomswear but I booked a florist and put down the deposit for the caterer. About dang time!  I also scored some wedding day accessories.

Ha! I don't even have them yet. I have some tentative dates picked but it's totally dependent on whether or not we can get approval to take pictures in the school building. The backup plan is the park. In any event it occurred to me that I better figure out what to do with these (hopefully) gorgeous images.

I don't know what's wrong with me lately. As the wedding gets closer I'm getting more and more weepy. I'm not full on bawling my eyes out but I start to get misty more than usual. 

Here are a couple of examples.

The other day I was on the train and saw someone that reminded of someone I haven't seen in ages. I started to get weepy eyed. Like there was, for real, an excess of moisture around the ocular region. What's up with that?

And today I was reading the comments you guys left on a post and I started to get weepy eyed. I'm so appreciative that you take the time to comment on my weird ramblings. I read your blogs and get genuinely excited when good things are happening. OMG I'm so totally jazzed that @AlwaysWright is getting hitched this weekend!!! 

Now I'm getting weepy again. . .

Is anybody else going through this?

Guestbook table

I'm starting to think about what I want the guestbook table to look like. I have these teapots and random bowl vessels I acquired awhile back. I need to acquire a few more pieces. If you recall the guestbook is really a "guesterpillar". Ummm . . .we should really get started on that.

Flower Girl update

While avoiding making some other decisions (more on that later this week) I decided to tackle the task of outfitting the flowers girls. I technically haven’t asked them yet but I’ll get to that in a minute.

Since Mumsie loves her some Light in the Box I figured I’d give them a shot. (p.s. Lil Sis got her prom dress from them and that was a HUGE success!)

I’ve been trying to wrangle a quote from the florist for ages. Alas, no luck so far. It’s time to change tactics.

Old tactic: Hey Florist look at my pretty inspiration boards and the sketches my sister drew of the tables. Nice, right? So how much for all that?

:: cricket cricket::

New tactic: Hey Florist here’s what I want and how much I’m willing to pay. Deal? Good. Now I can budget for flowers.

Save the Date Update

You may have heard that my save the dates pulled double duty as my way of collecting people’s mailing addresses.  Let me update you on how that all went down and my progress so far.

I used wedding wire’s address collecting tool which is pretty simple. It does most of the work for you.  You can either choose to enter your guests info directly on the WW website or upload it from an excel spreadsheet or from your email contacts. I chose to go the excel route. WW provides you with a template that you can use to input your info. It looks like this:

The headers are first name last name for up to 5 guests per household. This is followed by a household header where you input the last name of the household.  Don’t worry about repeating household names. It doesn’t get confused. The rest of the columns are really optional but fun if you like sorting people by groom’s side or bride’s side.
