Send in the Carnations

Source

“Aren’t carnations the ones they use at funerals?” “Carnations at weddings? Tacky!”
Blah. Blah. Blah.

I. Love. Carnations.

Because. . .

They can be so cute.

And. . .

- Yep, they are cost effective aka budget friendly aka CHEAP! Whatevs! Can’t fault a girl for being a touch money conscious.

- These cuties are hardy and long lasting. I used to be on a kick where I had to have fresh flowers in the house all the time. I found carnations to be the best choice.  I was so disappointed with some other flowers that started to droop and brown so much faster than carnations.

- Carnations are great for making things.

- Possibly the best part is that they come in a variety of different colors ( not every flower can boast such awesomeness).

The focus flower for the reception is the carnation. Any questions?

  1. I agree with you on carnations. They are pretty, inexpensive and last a long time. Oh well, if you love them, use them!

  2. Admittedly, I'm pretty anti-carnation on a whole. They're just not my thing. However, once I started browsing through wedding pictures and ideas, I realized that I'm a big, big fan of carnations when they're all smooshed together in a creative, sculptural form. I guess it just goes to show that you never know what may take you by surprise during the planning process!

  3. The lonely carnartion isn't so impressive but a bunch of them together is pretty awesome.

  4. A wise person that one that pointed out carnations are oft used at funerals. But I digress: after seeing the posted pictures illustrating what a truly malleable flower the carnation is (I am speaking of the ice cream cone concoction), I confess that I have become a fan. Pippa's Tip: Don't let the general inexpensiveness of the carnation fool you; watch your dollhairs around those sneaky, money-hungry florists.
