This is the story of a girl who found out that pretty ballgowns like this one are craaazy heavy. I tried this one on at Amsale and it was way too much dress. It's called "Stunning". And it is stunning in person but just too much dress. On to the reviews. . .
Not sure why but security is tight in this building. Bring photo ID. It might’ve just been us though. We are pretty scary looking.

Our consultant was okay. I just don’t think she clicked with us. The dresses are a touch on the pricey side and once I told her my budget she didn’t seem interested in putting me in anything over that. I didn’t push the issue. One dress I liked was. . .wait for it. . .thirteen. thousand. dollars. American! Holy majolies! Pfft. . .didn’t like you anyways. They don’t let you take pictures and she wouldn’t leave us alone in the room. Sister did manage to get one picture ever so snecretly. I didn’t really get psyched about the dresses I tried on either. It was a nice selection though. I tried on 7 dresses and among those were two dresses I had saved on my computer from an earlier internet search. The one below and the one above. Verdict? Eh.

It has to be a great experience if you, your two sisters and the consultant bust out a rousing chorus of My Fair Lady’s "Wouldn't It Be Loverly". Lov-er-ly. Lov-er-ly. Lov-er-ly. The selection there was a bit sparse but our consultant was wonderful. The service here was spectacular. I found at least one dress under serious consideration. This dress is gorgeous. They also have a nice selection of evening wear so if you don't find a wedding dress you could get an awesome Mother of the Bride dress or something to wear to your regular society soirees. Recommended.

Holy calzone!! 13 THOUSAND dollars?!?! Geez, I think I would die a little on the inside!
ReplyDeleteI agree those one dresses can be super heavy. I have a poofy dress, but it's tulle and organza, so it's not heavy (it's more airy).
